December begins as a fun day to visit the farm to select your Christmas tree - we'll have our hot Rinker's cider waiting for you in the main barn where we also have our made on the farm wreaths, garland, local honey and a selection of tree stands for sale.
Finn and Charlotte Wolff will be cooking up delicious hot dogs and hot pretzels under their green tent at the main barn, as well as offering snacks and drinks for sale.
Our friends from Bluemont Vineyard will be providing tastings of their local vintages, next door farmers Glenowen Farm have their natural, pasture raised Angus beef for sale and Hamilton Virginia legend Lothar Erbe will be on hand with his myriad German sausage creations.
It sounds like a bit of sun and clouds today with temperatures sliding into the mid 50's, bring work gloves and light jackets, you'll be hiking about the farm and on the move until you bring your tree to the main barn!  If you are going to be cutting a large tree, you may want to consider bringing a tarp on which to place and pull the tree. We will not be able to assist bringing large trees from the fields, and no vehicles are ever allowed in fields.
Although we have plenty of heavy duty twine to use for tying trees, your pickup truck, cam straps, heavy duty bungee cords or ratchet straps make the process of securing a tree faster and more reliable.  We also sell 14' cam straps, ask at the barn.
We are expecting a very busy day at the farm, please be patient with the Snickers Gap staff as we work hard to ensure that you enjoy your visit.
Merry Christmas!
